In this online program you will meet a variety of Plainfield and Hendricks County residents who love to cook and want to share some of their family's favorite recipes.
Did you know that the Plainfield Public Library has a collection of Hendricks County cookbooks? The cookbooks were created by a wide variety of organizations including schools, churches, clubs, and more. They feature family-favorite recipes from Plainfield and Hendricks County residents. The library is excited to be able to bring some of these local cooks in to demonstrate their recipes and talk about family and cooking. Check out the Plainfield-Guilford Township Library YouTube channel to view new episodes and watch the recipes come to life.
In the second episode, we will feature a recipe from FYI In the Kitchen published in 2009 by the Plainfield United Methodist Church. This easy-to-make desert recipe comes from Joy Philip and she will be joined by her son, Nick. The Philip family has lived in Plainfield since 1984 and Nick and Joy will discuss a few of their favorite family recipes and talk about meals growing up.
