Our own member David Jackson will share his research on the Scotch-Irish in the United States. He says “These are the musings of a trained historian and amateur genealogist about the fluid, evolving nature of ethnic identity. It is about the search for evidence-based historical understanding intersecting with deep longing for heritage. It’s about the complex identity of one wave of immigrants to British North America, long simplified as Scotch-Irish, and about trying to find out who the Jacksons thought they were and how I should see myself.” McMillan B meeting room.
